The best fluorocarbon leaders for 2026

Fluorocarbon has almost the same refractive index as water, which is the whole reason it exists: at 0,20 mm it is far less visible than a nylon of the same diameter, and the corpus repeats the claim in the same words — « quasi unsichtbar », « durchsichtig », « 100% ». It is also stiffer and sinks, which makes it a leader material rather than a main line. The shelf splits on how it is sold, and that decides who it is for.
